Early Fall Crystal Coast Fishing Report

If less is better, then how about this for how well the offshore fishing has been for the Morehead City waterfront charter fleet: “The Sensation, Bill Collector, Dancin Outlaw, O Lucky Me, and Fighting Lady smoked the Wahoo, Mahi, King Mackeral, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, and even Yellowfin Tuna.” That report came from Captain Dale Britt of the Sensation describing a day of fishing last week. Crystal Coast fishing has been hot under some rather cool weather conditions. Air temperatures along the beaches have barley slipped past the 80 degree mark. Water temperatures have remained just under that mark at around 78 degrees. These cooler conditions have kept the hot, stifling dog days of summer at bay and have allowed a variety of great fish catches to continue.
