Crazy Great Crystal Coast King Catches

How about this for a crazy great fishing report? The Bogue Inlet Pier in Emerald Isle reserves the end of its pier for king mackerel fishermen. By mid-October they open it up for the bottom fishermen because king mackerel catches have all but disappeared. But not this year! Consistent king catches in the 20-25 pound range are a daily occurrence so the pier is still open for king mackerel business!

Crystal Coast fishing has been hot under some rather cool weather conditions. Air temperatures along the beaches have barley slipped past the 80 degree mark. Water temperatures have remained just under that mark at around 78 degrees. These cooler conditions have kept the hot, stifling dog days of summer at bay and have allowed a variety of great fish catches to continue.
