Cobia fishing has been one of the hottest fishing topics along the Crystal Coast. These large, great fighting and great eating fish show up this time of year in and around inlets, deep water channels, reefs, bait balls and buoys. There are two basic styles for catching cobia. Crystal Coast fishing has been hot under some rather cool weather conditions. Air temperatures along the beaches have barley slipped past the 80 degree mark. Water temperatures have remained just under that mark at around 78 degrees. These cooler conditions have kept the hot, stifling dog days of summer at bay and have allowed a variety of great fish catches to continue.
