The winter time bluefin tuna fishery is one of the best in the world. These monsters of the deep come in close to shore. They can be caught in 30-40 feet of water and average in the 300 to 500 pound range.
Scuba diving in the area is world class. The waters off of the Crystal Coast are consistently ranked as some of the best in the world. Known as the “Graveyard of the Atlantic” the North Carolina coast offers over 2,000 wrecks to dive on. (But that’s just the number of wrecks that we know of!)
What makes diving the Crystal Coast so special are its warm and clear waters. It is unique to the area and not found elsewhere along the North Carolina coast. Water temperatures can be in the lower 80’s from top to the bottom while offering over 150 feet of water clarity.
Cedar Point is the western most edge of Carteret County. The White Oak River separates it from the historic town of Swansboro, NC. Cedar Point sits mainland right behind Emerald Isle and all of Bogue Banks. It takes about 10 minutes to leave Cedar Point Villas and be sitting and enjoying the beaches of the Crystal Coast-All 26 miles of it!
Access to and from Cedar Point is extremely easy by car or boat. Highway 24 is a 5 lane highway that runs through town. The ICW is just yards away from shore offering access to anywhere along the eastern seaboard. Morehead City, Atlantic Beach and Beaufort are all 15-20 minute drive from Cedar Point
